I have been a vegan for about 2 years now. And today I want to share with you all the places I go to eat and what I eat there.
1. Vegan House Cafe & Restaurant, Thadodhunga Marg, Jhamsikhel: Originally known as Cya Vegan, the cafe was on the verge of closing when a passionate customer decided to take over and rebrand it as Vegan House Cafe & Restaurant. For over a year now, the new owners have been running the place with enthusiasm, introducing fantastic options to the menu. Some of my favorites include the Buckwheat Momo, Vegan Special Momo, Seitan Chhoila, and Soy Milk Tea, to name a few. The current owners are incredibly friendly, zealous, and always up for a conversation, making every visit a warm and engaging experience.
2. V&V Restaurant, Dovan Pool, Sankhamul: V&V, which stands for "Veg and Vegan," offers a delightful menu featuring items like Seitan Chhoila, Seitan Sekuwa, Seitan Sukuti, Corn Momo, and much more. While the waiting time can be a bit longer due to being understaffed, the delicious food makes it well worth the wait. Be sure to try their Seitan Sekuwa, a must-have whether you're vegan or not.
3. Annakoot Veg-Vegan Cuisine : I discovered this place during Covid when I was exploring different vegan places available in Foodmandu. Post covid, I visited this place oh and what a pleasant visit it was. I love their tofu pakoda, tofu chilly, mushroom chilly

4. Always Happy Vegan Vegetarian : In the heart of Thamel ( I believe they now moved to Paknajol), They offer vegan wraps, vegan cake and bowls. I have not visited them very often to write further review so may be soon.
5. Nourish by Avata, Baluwatar: Nourish by Avata is a vegetarian restaurant from Avata Wellness Center. They offer vegan coffee, mini burgers, wraps and much more( which I am yet to explore). Their menu has lots of healthy alternatives.
6. Utpala Cafe: A vegetarian and vegan restaurant in the center of Bouddha, they offer buffet at reasonable price. The buffet culture started with a focus to serve Kora participants. They have various vegan options in their menu like soy milk tea, vegan cakes, spaghetti, momo etc.
7. Astrek Park, Thamel: It is currently my favorite of all where I go to have vegan pizzas from La Pizza Point and vegan brownie from Sprouts. Sprouts is a vegan restaurant with an amazing vegan menu like buddha bowl and vegan smoothies however, la pizza point isn't. Nevertheless, I love their vegan pizzas and so do my non-vegan friends as well.
Update 2024: La Pizza Point and Sprouts closed down after Covid.
8. French Bakery Kathmandu, Paknajol: They have a completely different vegan menu so if you ever give them a visit, don't forget to ask them for the V-Menu. They serve amazing chocolate and bakery as well as Italian options. I am in love with their confectionery. Their toast with scrambled tofu was also not bad at all however, it lacked seasoning for me.
9. Loving Heart Vegan Restaurant, Thamel: This was the first place I visited to try vegan food. I tried seitan for the first time here and soy milk. I am in love with their soy milk however, the last time I visited it, I was disappointed. Nevertheless, they have an option of vegan ice cream, vegan pizza and they do make sweet desserts occasionally like lalmohan.
10. OR2K, Mandala Street, Mandala Street: It's a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options and I prefer going to OR2K for falafel. Besides I love their pakaudas and mushroom choila. I am sorry but I haven't tried it enough to write anything more.
11. Sarangi Vegetarian Restaurant, Thamel: Went here when I started out as a Vegan and tried vegan nachos and vegan cheesecake. My friend was telling me they serve amazing food but we had run out of luck that day because something was off with the food that was served to us. They are also a vegetarian restaurant with vegan options.
12. Burger House and Crunchy Fried..., every next corner: Yes I know, you must be wondering how this name came to my list but trust me they serve the most amazing mushroom choila in the town. It's a food you wouldn't want to miss and I visit here often only for their mushroom choila, tofu and mushroom stick. But beware, not all of its branches make them that good. I prefer the one in Thamel and Baneshwor(on the way to Sankhamul).
13. SaraBakesVegan: It's not a restaurant but they take online orders. They provide amazing vegan cakes with lots of options, cupcake and their recently launched chocolate "Yummies". I often order from them when I crave for a cake and am addicted to their chocolate. Find them @sarabakesvegan on Instagram.

Update: Instead of Yummies Sara di makes Kioku and trust me when I say this, they are heaven in your mouth.
14. VeganDairyNepal: Again not a restaurant but an Instagram based vegan product seller. They sell vegan milk, notella, honey, butter, cheese and lots of other yummy options, hence, making life as a vegan super easy. Find them @vegandairynepal on Instagram. I especially love their cashew cheese, because La Pizza Point uses them in their vegan pizza. :) so go figure right.
15. NarayanDai, Basantapur, Putalisadak/..: Mentioning them because yes their vegan chhoila taste so damn amazing. I seriously could not contain myself the first time I tried them.
16. Roadhouse Cafe: They offer vegan pizza in their menu. Just ask if it is available. They also have potato croquette in their menu.
Keep on exploring and sharing everyone because vegan food is all around us and I can name 100 more places and surprise surprise they are our regular hangout places. But that's it for today.
